Stickman Game Levels

Guys,

What would you say a fair amount levels will be for a paid iOS Platformer Game. I was planning on 100 levels for version one, I figured I could do 5 levels a day and be able to tweak them and perfect it all in 2 to 3 months. Any thoughts?

In my opinion it all depends on which monetizing strategy you choose, if you choose a premium way. I would go for about 100 levels.

If you go for a free 2 play way I would go with less levels and do updates if the game does well.

Reason for this is that as a premium buyer I would expect more content, and to get the word of mouth going you`re dependant on happy costumers. On a free game, it is more of an games as a service, many people will download the game and newer play a single level, and many will only play a few. There are just a few that will play through all the levels, just have a look at candy crush, how many of your facebook friends has actually played through level 100, and keep in mind that this is a highly successful game, with a lot of marketing that gets the player re-engaged(i.e. ads, news stories, facebook friends begging for lives and level unlock)

Thanks Robiwan,

I’m taking your advice. I probably will plan about 30 levels in the free version with an option to upgrade to pro and allow them to get the rest, and doing another version which is purely pro.

game trailer looks awesome. it reminds me of ‘q play’. people love to play physics based puzzle solving adventures.
Anyways, I operate stickmangames247.com so if you need to promote your game, I would love to to do it for free. Also if you plan to release a version in unity/flash, I would be happy to publish it, maybe even to sponsor it for a reasonable price.
