3rd party tool like 2d toolkit?
Still do I need it? other than unity 4.3’s 2d features?
If you don’t want to buy the Pro version of Unity 4.3 then you will need to buy 2Dtoolkit for the purpose of sprite atlases, sprite batching, and easy handling of different device screen resolutions.
Sprites are batched in Unity Free as well.
Sorry, to clarify…
Unity Free has dynamic batching.
Unity Pro has static batching.
2Dtoolkit has static batching.
