Still don't have a clue how to place light probes properly

Trying to add light probes to my game and the look great where it’s bright and there’s small lighting changes, but where the lighting changes suddenly or it is dark I have no clue how to place them for it to look good.

Here’s some screenshots from my game showing my characters legs inside a house.

Without light probes in the center of the room:

Obviously I don’t want the lighting to change depending on where the character is inside the room and even the center light probe seems too bright.

The light probe close to the wall:

You can just about make out how bright the outside light probe is in the top right corner.

Another unrelated issue is the window catching the sun highlight inside the house, but I bet that can be fixed through modeling it differently.

I just don’t understand how you would go about placing light probes near a wall like this. I do not want any influence whatsoever from the outside probes, but I can’t control that so it’s going to happen no matter what I do. This is two completely separate zones so shouldn’t it be possible to have them as two separate volumes calculated differently or something?

Can you post a screenhot which shows the probe positions in your scene?

I’m a little puzzled by what you are trying to achieve exactly, if you have problems with light transitions where the character suddenly turns dark from being lit then you probably need to add a few more probes to sample the light to dark better. Again, a screenshot regarding your light probe setup would be really handy.

Additionally you could send in your example project via the bug reporting tool, that way I could have a look for you?

Thanks,
Chris
