stopping animations

hello I’m new to animations.

I got an animation playing (walk). When the user stops pressing the walk buttons I tell the animation component to stop with animation.Stop() and it does not start an animation until i start walking again.

However, when the player is walking and stops, the animation completely stops without moving the character back to just standing. I was thinking about just letting the animation finish and then stop, but I have no idea how to do this.

Play the idle animation instead of stopping it. I preferably use Animation.CrossFade instead if Animation.Play. You can make it stop, then immediately play it afterward, that should still work.
