If you haven’t bought the storm effects from WeBee3D last year then this wouldn’t effect you and you probably won’t know what I’m talking about.
Last year I bought Storm Effects from the asset store, I haven’t really used it to be honest. Today I visit the asset store to import it, and guess what I spotted “Buy $20”… Can someone explain why I no longer own this asset?
(bare in mind these guys changed there “company” name after a big rant over the disgraceful asset sham with the browser asset, then removed that asset and the storm effects last year)
This is scary news because Unity hasn’t notified me that I no longer can download or view an asset I paid for($20)…
I apologize if I offend anyone, this is simply my honest reaction to this shocking news.
I’ve dealt with WeBee3D with the browser asset as well, they completely ignore support, and refused to give me a refund for $125.
They don’t seem to have morals so this is hardly surprising… I’m just shocked unity hasn’t notified me about this… What other assets have been removed, I don’t really keep a list of my purchases
Caitlyn, from unity3d team, promised some improvement and a notification system too.
Logically, the system will operate from activation and not backward.
Try to contact the new company, probably will be so kind to send you the version 1.1

The Storm Effects Publisher name was changed to WeBee3D because the business partnership of Mythos Labs dissolved as of January 1, 2013. The company has since parted ways, and as a result, we dissolved the name “Mythos Labs” for legal reasons. I officially resubmitted Storm Effects to the Asset Store and started over with a clean slate: new name, and payment information. Unfortunately it was impossible to migrate the old customer base, so that information was lost, and people like shifty who purchased the asset were unable to automatically re-download. I apologize for the inconvenience this has created.
Due to switching publisher names from Mythos Labs to WeBee3D, I’m going to be updating the older Mythos Labs Storm Effects customers manually. Newer WeBee3D Storm Effects customers will be able to update as usual, via the asset store.

WeBee3D is not in any way associated with the “browser asset” described by shifty in this forum thread. WeBee3D owns and maintains Storm Effects and is more than happy to provide excellent customer support for that product. Send me an email anytime.
