Strange discoloration contained around mesh

No idea what is causing this.

This has happened in every version of Unity I’ve ever tried (including 5.6).
I don’t even know what to call this honestly.

Sometimes if rarely it also happens in game-play. But mainly it’s just an annoyance in the editor.

Well turns out it’s the Screen Space Reflection image effect that comes with Unity.
