Hello, I’m part of a small team of 3 people working on a game for a class involving silly pasta stuff. Well, what happened today was odd: we use Github for version control, and… Well… All of the branches except mine ran into a strange error where everything would just dissapear. Every time I went onto a branch that was not my branch, INCLUDING THE MAIN BRANCH, Unity would randomly add these blank meta files that would seem to break everything. Here’s a video to show what I mean:
Your description is wrong. That’s github desktop, not github. I’ve used github desktop in the past and it DID have problems but rarely. Try sourcetree which is free but difficult to use. If you’re using Mac, instructions in the atlassian website should be up-to-date. If you’re using Windows, you better watch out as might very well be outdated. I won’t waste time commenting on why your problems exist as I’ve spoken to the github desktop team and they don’t always know the solution to the problem. So I stopped using github desktop.
If you still insist on using it since you are halfway through, you better check with the team and hope they have a solution. That’s all there is to say.
