strategic zoom theory(before script it)

I know how to script however i need to know what is theory to create strategic zoom.
That strategic zoom is often seen by Supreme Commander and Battle Worlds Kronos.

Edit:
is there other word is same or similar to strategic zoom?

Old question but thought others might come across this. I’d look into using an AnimationCurve and set 3 values. First is your minimum normal height, second is your maximum normal height and third is a ‘strategic height’
