Student license question

So I’ve looked around but I can’t find any answers of my question so I’m just going to ask it here. As of now I’m using the free version of Unity but am a student (high school). I was wondering that if I was able to get a student version from Studica for $99 does that also work like the free license and allow me to publish games for free or is the educational license limited in that sense?

I believe its limited in that sense, and also it is limited in how many activations you can have (1). It seems strictly for learning purposes as far as I can see. You can read the terms on Studica.

Darn, thanks though. That’s a bit frustrating.

Understandable considering the price though. If it wasn’t like that, everyone would go to college on a 3 day ergonomics course costing $100 dollars and buy themselves unity pro for another $99 :stuck_out_tongue:

It does say “commercial” content though. So if you were happy making your games for free or using web publisher I think it would be fine with the student edition.

Kongregate kinda is commercial though.

Commercial means making money in any form, be it selling, ad driven, microtransaction or anything alike.

But doing a game thats 100% free or open source on the other hand would be no problem with the education license
