Stumped: Whay almost no IPhone Tuts?

With the torrent of base program tutorials, I’m stupefied as to why there has been almost no additional iPhone tuts?

There’s gobs to learn in the Penelope tut(kinda too much actually). But that’s about it… Be mighty nice if the once fabled Demo team would step back into the ring and pony up a few of the long promised, ‘shorter’ iPhone tutorials. Or some industrious 3rd party Dev?

I don’t know I’m on the other side of this. I think there is enough out already. Sure I welcome more tut’s, but there is plenty of information out now. What exactly are you needing to know that isn’t already out there?

Because aside of the input and occlusion culling, Unity iPhone is the same as Unity on the desktop, so no additional tutorials required to cover that additional stuff.

And to learn about those two things, you best look into the example projects and toy with them.

Appreciate the input guys.

But when I wander into a store to purchase something, I honestly don’t need the input of other shoppers as to whether I actually want it or not.

Feel good that you don’t need it and don’t understand the value. But as this is a teaching section, it isn’t helpful to make the decision for me or anyone else about what I actually need. If there’s a market, there is always a vendor. Case in point… the Snuggie.

B.

Apparently you didn’t.

You asked a question in an open forum and we politely gave you our opinion of what we felt the answer was. Unfortunately it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. That is your pill to swallow. In my opinion it is bad form for you to stifle any person that doesn’t agree with your opinion.

As for the topic of this thread? As I said Sure it would be nice, but the information is already available.
What more do you want? In the time it would take to make more tutorials about the same stuff, One could find the answers by taking the time to look.

Actually I did need it and I do value it and they delivered it. As you said in your own words.

Not sure they actually made a promise on when as I know they never commit to hard dates on any plans, so I think it’s not fair to throw UT under the bus like that. If they did then give it time, The Penelope tutorial just came out.

But hey in all I look forward to any new tutorials that may come along.

I appreciate your input… (P.C. speak for: If you aren’t a Unity Employee or a 3rd party writer of tutorials, feel free to continue passed this post).

This I tried to express politely as opposed to telling you to piss off. Guess it was too subtle.

It isn’t your place to wonder why I, paying customer want something further documented or why I would inquire about tutorials previously discussed here and on the Unity blog.

What the hell is it to you what I ask for in my own thread? The only reason you wandered in was to let me know your thoughts on what I want. You know what?

I do appreciate your input…

The iPhone Section is jammed with questions and concerns the extend far beyond OC and model optimization. The inquiry is not without merit.
