I submitted Night Divine to the app store very late Sunday night (Nov 9th). I’m hoping Apple approves it sometime this week.

VERY smart.
99 cents?
I almost tried a fast joe the plumber game (a connect the pipes game) where you tried not to reach 250000 points, but it had to be done and out there too quickly, and I didn’t have Unity to do it. lol.
Thanks. Actually $1.99 I justify this because it is a game and a ‘toy’, i.e. because it is like two apps in one.
Hey that’s great looking - and just in time too!
I’m glad to see this because the visuals answer a couple of questions I had about the iPhone itself.
Good luck with it and make sure you pop it into the sticky thread when its finally gets into the app store.
Cool thanks. Yeah, particles work very good on the iPhone!
I’m glad particles work so well - I’m gonna need them! But the way things are just now, my seasonal offering may have to wait until Christmas 2009 (we only just got accepted into the dev prog yesterday)
The flare on the star works nicely too!
Nice!!!

Looks awesome!
Questions:
How did you handle the music given the PCM limitation, or is the download huge?
Are you just using standard particle emitters or did you do what the docs refer to as pre-baking your particles together into a single texture (or mesh)?
Great work Randy!
I got creative with the music. I originally wanted to use full length music, but instead I used smaller <30 second clips and loop them. Not what I really wanted, but it is ok.
Standard particles, nothing special.
Went “Ready for Sale” last night (received email from Apple at about 7pm EST). It showed up on iTunes this morning. So it took about 3 days for Apple to approve it.
huh? I found it on the app store but there is now “buy” button on the page.
Congrats!
I’m a little disappointed with my first day sales. Only sold 15 copies, which seems like a very crappy start considering that sales usually spike when first released then drop over time. I don’t know maybe it’s little early in the season for a Christmas game.
That and the fact that there’s no “buy” option. I don’t know how those 15 people bought it, but when I pull it up on my iPod touch, it is just a product page with no “Buy” button at the top-right.
No “Buy” button? Thats weird. I see a little “$1.99” button in the upper right corner (App Store on the iPhone).
Another weird thing is that Night Divine doesn’t appear in either the Games or Entertainment categories on the iPhone App Store. The only way I can find it is to Search for it (by name).
UPDATE: It shows up in the Games(family) and Entertainment categories on the iTunes App Store, just not on the iPhone/Touch App Store.
Yeah, I had to search for it as well. But I’m not the only one who didn’t see a purchase button. Someone else commented on that too in your thread, so you might want to check with Apple. I’ve seen several apps before like that and wondered what the deal was. If you find out what this is about, I’d love to know, so please post your findings.
Ok, thanks Brady. I’ll call Apple. But before I do I want to check something… Are you using the US store?
All apps are like that; that’s how it works. It doesn’t specifically say “Buy” unless you’re using iTunes on your computer. On iPhone/Touch you just use the price button.
