Are you looking for ways to streamline your deliverable’s, or maybe just shrink the size of the your projects? Do you have way too many normal maps, height maps, AO maps, etc taking up an incredible amount of space on your hard drive?
Tired of applying each of those textures to the right channels every time you want to make a new material?
Would you like to just use one base color texture and have the material generate all of those other maps for you at load time?
Would you like to leverage the power of Substances in your development right now with no working knowledge of Substance Designer, or Substance Painter?
Then this is for you!
Just supply the single source texture, and let Substance Blender do the rest. All Normal, Height, AO, Roughness maps are generated at load time saving you from storing them on your hard drive, or even in your executable as extra assets. You choose the resolution to generate from 32 to 2K.
Once you have your single texture generated as a fully PBR material, using the Standard Shader–or any shader you want, then have quite a few other options…
Substance Blender allows you mix between a total of 6 texture channels of your choosing, each with their own parameters. Just because it takes 6 textures, doesn’t mean you have to use all 6! Only use what you need to get the look you want.
Many more options and controls already in development for the next update!
As an an added feature to Substance Blender, I’ve added the Texture Adapter Substance to the package. This allows you a very easy way of taking a single source texture and generating a simple, fully PBR Substance material. I say simple in that it only blends a single channel, but it still comes with the ability to add water, ice, snow and moss, as well standard controls over the diffuse channel, relief intensity, Roughness and AO levels.
Gone are the days of setting up your materials by dragging one texture map to one channel, over and over. Gone are the days of storing all of those extra texture maps.
Ships with 10 Source textures, and ready to go folder structures with the following categories:
barks, concrete, grass, grounds, misc, stone, and walls. Each folder contains a single channel Texture Adapter, and a single 6 channel Substance ready to go. All you need to do is make duplicates as you go.
Texturing just got fun again!
