We sell lots of software. We try to make our software accessible as we sell to deaf, handicapped and non-English communities. I don’t have any videos at the moment since they are being re-done.
Do people want or need English subtitles in (our Unity learning) video tutorials?
Does anyone read the English subtitles instead of listening, when viewing Unity learning videos?
Does anyone else do this where they put English subtitles to their Youtube videos?
YES! Everyone should add subtitles. Especially from people who obviously are not super into speaking English.

I’ve put captions in a few of my videos, but I haven’t completed it yet because it’s quite a long process to transcribe what I’ve been saying fairly accurately. On YT these can be read either as captions on the video or as a transcript underneath the video, which I think is easier to read. Quite a few of my viewers come from non English speaking countries, eg Russia, and I’m sure it’s easier to translate text than the spoken word, quite apart from deaf viewers. It’s a long job though and I haven’t had the time for all of them.
Why is this even a question?
How exactly is this part of your explicitly stated target audience going to use your stuff otherwise?
