Sugar High Shakedown

Over a year long process documented. What started out using the Construct 2 engine, has now been switched over to Unity. Amazing how things develop and change the deeper you dive despite starting with the idea and completely detailing almost every aspect of the story, game mechanics, progression, and so forth.

All pixel art done using GIMP, but some alterations I need to make will require Blender and MagicaVoxel.

Main focus is to provide player with responsive controls and the feel of the impact. Standard co-op and online co-op in the forecast. Just a fun game to pick up and play, but give the player a sense of various accomplishments along the way…pretty standard, except the story is a sad tragedy of today’s youth feeling the pressure of consuming sugary snacks being told through beat em up genre game. This may make your heart wrench and force one to search one’s soul. sniff…sniff (tear streams).

Little update: 10/26/17
First playable test complete. Lots of tweaks to be made. Player is up walking and trying out new camera options.

A new and shiny designated site has been posted (pixelpopulation will still be updated)

Already included is the backstory to mankind’s downfall. (Good 1.5 minute read if you have the time.)

Plenty of other goodies are up as well.

Sound samples are up for taste testing.

Just click on the link once there and hopefully you will get some 8bit style pleasure for your ears.
