This is a game I’ve been working on for the past year. Super Atomico 1990 is a magnetized physics game meets tunnel racer. The goal is to collect fuel cells, repelling bombs into spikes to gain higher multipliers. This game started out as a school project, but I’ve been working off and on tweaking and polishing it up in the last few months.
I’m looking for any feedback on game design and polish issues. There’s a lot I want/need to do with the gui and eventually figuring out how to implement a high score system.
The game looks like something out of a JJ Abrams movie, lol (lens flare joke :p)! Although it was visually appealing, I felt the rest was lacking. I didn’t find the directions to be all that helpful, and I didn’t “get” the gameplay. It felt as if I was playing an overly lighted, and less fun version of “HSX - HyperSonic Xtreme” (ps2 game, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoVaYKHyN2g).
If you guys have a pc and 360 controller working for it, I would highly recommend you play this version. I totally forgot how much better it feels with a controller.
Feedback:
There are some issues with the deadzone being too small (set it to 0.24f or higher possibly).
Also, when the game is over, the R key is not mapped to the controller, that means i actually had to use the keyboard to restart the game.
