Support lacking

Nothing but crickets from unity in resolving my issue. I have submitted several tickets - not copies, different errors but all pointing to the same problem and after months , when I finally got a response it was merely that they have combined my tickets into a single ticket. I guess that’s progress, so now instead of ignoring 5 tickets they are ignoring just 1. The root problem is that I can no longer use 4.7.2 due to “peer certificate cannot be authenticated” or " this is a different machine" . The last error due to my computer dying and requiring a new motherboard. Don’t even go there with the “you should upgrade” ! I have tried and 5.x and above simply nukes my project. After many hours I did get it to play but physics are all wonky, water is wonky, standard assets API ( like the car) broken, outdated, or…just wonky. I have spent - wasted, apparently- thousands of hours over the years and am really bummed out that I now have nothing to show for it because a FREE version of an old unity cannot find a license or connect to server or whatever. Over the years I have had a few support issues arise and NEVER has support been there. Just a rabbit hole of links ( many dead) that just run you through a maze of more rabbit holes and dead ends. Pretty sure that it was AI that consolidated my queries and not a real person

You are aware that you are complaining about technical issues with a Unity version that’s 10 years old at this point? This version isn’t even listed on the downloads archive anymore and has long been out of support.

Yes, I realize that. I am actually complaining ( here) about SUPPORT - or lack there of in even a response. and if my project wouldn’t self destruct by upgrading to 5 or beyond I would gladly do it. But I don’t even see this as a support issue in that it previously worked on 3 different computers and now it doesn’t because the plug was pulled on unity’s end. This seems more like a disabling matter. I had the same problem with ARASHD - a program I bought and paid for. FARO bought ARAS and continued the product as FAROHD for about a year, then pulled the plug. Shutting down the license server so the program I bought became useless. They said the same thing “we don’t support it anymore”. I’m not asking for “support” just undo whatever you did to break it. You can’t take the time to address my issues but you can take the time to disable the product? A free version of anything should not require connecting to a license server ( in the Unity situation) before deciding to “not support” 4.7.2 they could have easily written a patch or something to disable Unity from having to connect - making it self contained. This isn’t a problem I created, it was created by Unity - a proactive approach to disable when the same amount of effort could have been exerted so that it runs independently. It shows up in unity hub…that I have a license from when I installed in 2016, but I can’t seem to retrieve it or run the app from there. To me it seems like as they scorched earth behind them. Like a mechanic messing with my car then telling me they won’t fix it because they don’t work on those models anymore. The “peer authentication error” is not unique to me. I have researched it and found many threads on the matter but no answers
