Surrender Alpha : Call for Feedback!

Hi guys, I’m getting close to finishing my game now so I would like to share the latest and probably last public build before the game is finished. So I would like to share it with you and if you have any suggestions or comments I’d be more than happy to receive them!

Enjoy the game guys, the web player is here : http://www.quickfingers.net/?page_id=358

Cheers!

Great job on the new controls. Its quite amazing now  great work, and good luck in the competition!

Fantastic! Great look, great models, fun to play.

Great work

Greate work m8!

Wow, very nice! How about a feature that you can stole enemy vehicles?

Looks awesome! Really enjoyable, I’ll follow this project. And I love the bg soundtrack!!
By now, you’ve certainly gotten a lot of feedback about the steering, but mine is that I had a hard time navigating, it feels more like steering a rally car than a tank for instance. Other than that, I really liked playing the demo ^^

YEAH! =D

What did you not like about the steering? I love the steering now with the mouselook aiming, I think they are perfectly controllable but also feel like excellent (playable) simulations of how a real vehicle would move.

Wouldn’t a tank technically “steer” the same as a rally car, just move much slower?

Exactly, you expect it to be heavier and more stable than a rally car, as it is now, I turn 90 degrees as soon as I tap the right/left arrows, so it’s difficult for me to keep a steady pace. It’s not the transfer velocity, only how easy they turn around.Yet, I enjoyed playing the demo, and I agree the steering with the mouselook aiming is really at their place.

Doesn’t work on macbook pro with chrome, then menu and the loading screen works and you can drive the car but when you go to play the full game it crashes

can you give a tutorial about the mini map?
TNX!
And great game!

I second that motion, I dig the minimap also.

I like your game! Very nicely done!

I have a suggestion to expand on it at a later version.
Try out this game:

It was an awesome amiga game that was very fun to play.Especially that you could blast a building and enemy
soldiers came out which you could squach with your tank.

Good luck!

It’s better now that you’ve enabled mouse aiming, but I find it amusing that no one has commented that the tank and the rocket truck go the wrong way when you reverse and turn. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s opposite of what it should be, i.e opposite of the buggy.

Had very fun time playing this game, i think it is going in very good direction… In this stage now i know to spend time playing this game … cant wait to see it polished.

Keep up good work

The controls are much better this time around and more manageable I think. I notice that if u hit the F key it goes full screen but the HUD doesn’t get reposition as it should.

I noticed a sound bug with the helicopter. When I fire the machine gun and click space to switch to rockets, the machine gun firing sample keeps playing.

Other then that: Good fun!

REALLY sweet looking and playing game!

I managed to get the jeep stuck, though. It had a lot of trouble repositioning after I rolled it, then it repositioned but it wouldn’t move when I got in. I tried blasting it, then getting in, but it still sat there. I think maybe it didn’t reposition itself properly :frowning:

Other than that, OMG it’s @%@%@% FANTASTIC!

Really impressive work, i will track this for sure. Just bookmarked.

Btw, everything went fine with this alpha for me, except that i couldn’t get off the heli. Is this an issue with this version or i was just too dumb to find out how to do it?

Anyway, keep it up. Looks great so far…

On his blog, Quickfingers mentions Return Fire as inspiration. Now, if he’d only throw out some Desert Strike love, I’d be a happy old man.
