Survive: New Fps Needs Small Feed Back mac pc

Hey guys I am working on a new FPS and need to know how Im doing so far. This is just a small test but I need to know how many Frames per sec you guys get from this small room. I plan on creating a visually stunning title based more on problem solving and logic more than shooting everything. I will post more later but need just some input right now. Can you please tell me your specs and fps and some feedback. FYI dont mind the water sound or lamps they are just place holders. And the stuff falling will eventually be rain from the sky lights which will have broken glass.

I’d give feedback, but a Windows version isn’t very useful to a large percentage of people here, including me. You should make a web player, because it’s no-fuss cross-platform (not to mention a smaller file), and has pretty much the same performance as a stand-alone in full-screen mode.

I have no way to post a web version as I do not have a website up.

Just zip the .html and .unityweb files. Or you could make a Mac build as well, but it’s simpler just to do one file rather than two.

Would like to test it PC.

Thanks, but unfortunately I still can’t give feedback since you did Intel-only instead of Universal. This is why I think just zipping up a webplayer is the best option when asking for feedback, since you cover everybody in one package.

Here you go Eric http://www.mediafire.com/?nwkunktoioq. I am working on a website right now. Sorry Dude

You don’t need a website. Just zip the .html + .unityweb files that Unity generates when you make a webplayer.

Anyway, thanks for the standalone…while the fps counter doesn’t seem to be working, it runs smoothly on my X800 card, and looks good for the most part. There are overlapping polygons in a couple of places on the floor which cause artifacts; see screenshot (same thing at the other side of the room). The bumpmapping would be much improved if you used trilinear filtering for the texture, since the mip level transitions are really obvious without it. Finally, the gun would look better if you had it rendering with another camera on top of everything else, since otherwise it looks awkward when poking into crates or the walls. Nice job other than that.

Thanks for your project.

FPS is about 60-120. My opinion:

  • Your barrel make too much particle, and they must be slower.
  • The spot light seem to have a limit, so we watch the sealing and we see just black.
  • Your indoor light are too weak, put some more brightness. A flash light + sealing light you should see more normally what is in the room.

The fps counter doesn’t seem to work for me either. However, it does seem to play pretty smoothly on my Mac, a 24" 2.93ghz iMac with NVIDIA GeForce GT 130.

Since I didnt get many responses im guessing that the fps counter doesnt work on Mac builds. I have to fix that but good thing is that it runs smooth
