Switched to Linear Colorspace and everything looks like shit....

I tried tweaking every material but none of the lighting gets bright enough shadows look like shit, they are wayyyyy to dark, materials seem unnatural no matter how I tweak them.

Did you rebake your lighting?

ill check to see aht I can do

Just frustrating because just when I think ive figured out unity there’s a whole other ball game with linear Color space. I found out the skybox effects the lighting on objects. is there a reason that just simply changing the skybox messes witht eh lighting on certain objects? Even if I increase the light intensity of the directional light the skybox still brightens or darkens these items. IS there any way around that so the skybox will not affect lighting and let me handle all lighting with directional light?

Just choose a different Ambient setting in the Lighting panel.

It could also be because of reflection probes, since by default if you don’t have any actual probes in the scene, Unity makes a global one based on the skybox. (you can change the behaviour in the lighting tab)

You’re using tonemapping… right?

not in linear colorspace yet. I was trying to find a decent stand alone tone mapping asset on the store. How does the tone mapping effect linear differently? i hear people saying this is a must when using linear.

HDR+Linear uses values larger than your monitor can display. This means those values need to be brought into display range, and that’s tonemapping’s job.
