Here is an environment I’ve been working on. I have really gotten into hand painted textures the past couple of years but I’ve mostly been doing quick props instead of full scenes. So I wrote down a list of about 5-6 environments I would love to make in a hand painted style. The iconic sword in the stone was at the top of my list. I’d like to make the other scenes I wrote down, but I’ll take it ones step at a time. All done in Unity 3.
This looks great, really good job. If I may suggest, try to match the color of the grass, may not completely but the ground color shoud be a little brighter (green).
Great art, primary criticism I have is that stone wall. Too regular and neat compared to the rest of the scene. Add some terrain overgrowing the top, some missing stones perhaps.
This is really well done, while you have some obvious skill which require practice, it would greatly benefit the community if you could provide some tips on producing such nice results.
Ewwww that looks all painterly and stuff… like somebody did hand paint the textures or something like that Good job Sky! Was wondering where you were for a while there.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback and comments. I’ll post the other scenes as I continue working on them.
JRavey - I usually document the whole process from the beginning and post it all up on my website. But I had my computer die on me when I was pretty far along with this scene and lost about half of my work. After that I just tried to get it done. I’ve already started the second environment on my list. I’ll post some progress and tips as I work on it.
Thomas! How are you sir? It’s been far too long since I’ve talked to you. Hey, progress on Dungeon Legend is looking great! I check the developers blog frequently for updates.
Interesting how much attention did this topic get. Dont get me wrong, your work is amazing, but it really seems like that most people preffer WoW fantasy stylysed art.
