Hey,
I recently updated my engine to 3.0 and found that the networking code changed. So I updated my code to suite this Networking platform.
Here is the problem:
I tested my code on all machines that used to have a properly working NAT Punchthrough enabled configuration. In every case the facilitator reports a Symmetric Nat and the connection fails. Is there a workaround avaible (port prediction), or anything I should know of?
Thanks in advance,
Vinpasso
Afraid I don’t have any help, but this seems in line with what I just discovered. My test router uses an address restricted NAT but I am seeing it reported as limited symmetric in 3.0 as well.
Looks like the default Unity facilitator and connection tester for 3.0 are broken and the only way to get something that works is to host your own. I managed to get a 4 IP machine to host the (forum-backdoor-sneakily supplied) 3.0 servers and the results are better. I am still getting downgraded from what I think should be either full cone or at least address restricted NAT to a port restricted NAT, but I can in fact do at least some level of NAT punch through.
I get this as well… darn…
Same here…
