Id like to use Notepad++ as the Unity editor, has anyone gotten the Unity keyword highlighting working in this editor? I tried using search, but had no luck.

I was wondering too.
If it is possible for you to install Visual Studio Express or MonoDevelop on your machine, I would do that. MonoDevelop is likely more lightweight.
However, there is an option inside the Unity editor to “Sync Visual Studio Project”. It works wonderfully in creating project files that contain syntax highlighting and intellisense.
