System-wide control bug, Unity thinks my left is being pressed?

Hello Unity forums!
So, my problem is, on any Unity game I try to play, Unity thinks my left key is being pressed. (Not sure whether arrow key or A.)

I first noticed this problem when I tried the new sample assets in the web player.

Later, I bought a game on Steam that’s made in Unity, and I encountered the same problem. Now I feel bad for bugging the developer so much.

I just now was playtesting an old scene I had and found that the bug was there as well.

What could be causing this? Is there some simple fix to the Unity files I could do? Any help is appreciated, as right now I can’t play games that I paid for or make games.

Typically the result of having an uncalibrated joystick or controller plugged in.

That crossed my mind, but I only have my keyboard and mouse plugged in.

To check if the problem lies in the keyboard (or the connection with the keyboard), unplug the keyboard and start the game. If the left key is being continually pressed, it’s a problem with your keyboard/connection. Otherwise, it may be a problem from something else.

Hope that helps… some.

Thanks, but now I’m 110% positive it’s Unity. I’m not having any problems anywhere else except in Unity applications. I tried unplugging keyboard and mouse, same problem.

Can you try switching the app into full-screen. I’ve seen some games that have this problem on a Mac. Switching from windowed to full screen seems to be the only solution I have come across that stops this.

That isn’t doing anything either :frowning:
I guess when I get home I’ll do a full reinstallation of everything to do with Unity.

In case anyone encounters this problem, I ended up uninstalling Unity and the webplayer. Fixed the problem.

I am having this exact problem right now, going for a fresh install
