Tap to move?

Hi all,

I am trying to instigate a system where you tap to move, think Olympics games 100 meters.
So the faster you tap, say, either arrow key alternatively, the character progresses forward.

Ha sorry, when I had written it, it looked as if the question was implied, sorry.

Basically the question is, how can it be done? Tap to progress forward.
