Target OS 2.2 and earlier with recent Xcode?

Silly me, for “safety’s sake”, I uninstalled Xcode before installing the new version (okay, not the newest version, I’m using 3.1.4), and now I can’t target iPhone OS 2.2 and earlier (2.2.1 is the earliest I can build for). I want to target 2.0 as there are still lots of devices out there that haven’t been upgraded. I know I’ve heard talk of a way to add <2.2.1 support back into Xcode, but I can’t seem to find out how.

Any thoughts?

REinstall iPhone SDK, you will see some options to turn on OS 2.0 build.

Thanks, I guess somehow I missed that. I’ll give it a try.

No problem, glad to help.

It looks like you should build with the 3.1 SDK even if you’re targeting an earlier version…

Both of these values are set in the build tab of project settings when you have Device chosen as the target in the window button-bar pulldown.

So in that case do I take it we should always select “Device - 3.1 | Release” for distribution (or whatever the latest version is), but then in the build tab of the project settings, we set “iPhone OS Deployment Target” (under the Deployment section) to iPhone OS 2.0?
