It’s a technical post mortem. Why wouldn’t you be semantic?
I agree completely. I was kinda trying to point out how pointless semantics are. But to continue the point anyhow, in 3d graphics, translucency tends to mean what you said. But by definition it just means something that can be seen through, but isn’t fully transparent. Any alpha value between 0.0 and 1.0 would fit the definition.

I think his point was that we are being semantic on meaningless things.
Perhaps the true semantic argument was the friends we made along the way.
