Technical question about Maximum polygones for a Caracter !!

How far can i go in details concerning my caracter to respect the norms and keep unity’s engine working perfectly ?! (number of polygones)

There’s no simple answer to this, unfortunately. It will depend largely on the hardware your game is running on, but also on the number of materials the character has and what else is going on in the scene. There is a manual page that gives some information about this but you may need to experiment a bit to get the result you want.

It also helps to know about other games in the market. As far as I know current next-gen desktop games polycount for main characters range from 2k to 10k polys with diffuse normal and specular maps. If you are working on an iOs game, I wouldn’t pass 800 polys for the main character though and much lower for NPC’s.
