Terrain Advice?

Hello everyone, Im a-bit new to Unity and such, so please forgive me if this is a silly question.

I’m currently working on creating an island in Maya 2008, it will have various caves and strange shapes, that seem unlikely to be achieved using the the terrain editor in Unity. Once I finish the modeling, is there a way to utilize the rest of the terrain editor (texturing, trees, and grass) on the model I created in Maya once imported in Unity?

No, the terrain editor can be used with Unity terrains only. You can convert a mesh to a Unity heightmap terrain, but you will lose things like caves, overhangs, etc.
