Terrain and Rocks Issue

Good Morning,

As the title say I have an issue with placing rocks and Details on a Unity terrain. From a close distance they looks fine but from far, even enablying the Fog and the Atmpsfhere scattering they look “detached”. I cannot explain but even by using the same textures of the terrain, the way they look is not the same.
Am I missing something concerning the illumination?
I am not very familiar with probes and so I don’t use them. Is this the root of the issue?

Thanks in advance for you help, I really need it!

Dom

I’ve found tweaking my AO solution to scale better with further terrain objects has helped a bit to ground stuff.

hey! Thanks for reply!

Could you tell me more in detail of your approach? Did you use the AO of UNITY or another package?

Thanks

I used the AO of my own Post-Processing package PRISM (link in sig). Essentially I just scaled up the AO “Contrast” value as depth of the scene increased. It’s a bit of a hack though so it won’t ever make it to the main version of PRISM, but if you know your way around shaders it’s quite easy.
Out of interest, can you share some screenshots of the issues you’re having?
