Terrain duplication for each scene?

Hi all… i have two scenes (let´s say A and B)… the terrain are the same but only some few things change (for instance, terrain in Scene A has a hill and B has not), i don´t want to do the entire terrain again in B, because terrain is already made in A, i want to copy the terrain in Scene A to Scene B, i don´t know how to do that… what happen is when i modify the terrain A, automatically modifying terrain B… is like the terrain is shared by A and B…, i don´t want that!.. i want two differents terrains copies!.. what could i do?

Thanks.

HI Mig-081,

You can’t actually copy a terrain from one scene to another. You have to export the terrain you want to copy as a heightmap from the first scene and then create a new terrain in the second scene and apply the heightmap.

Smart idea… thanks Zaffer !

If you rename your terrain both in the scene file and project directory in scene A so nothing gets over written, then simply take your terrain from you scene and create a prefab. Then select both the terrain and its prefab and you can either export package and then re import into scene B or just copy the files in explorer to your B project. Then drag the prefab into your new scene and it should have all the settings you had befor. Doing it this way will transfer all the settings, texture, trees, placement and whatever elses you got attached to it.
