Edit: Also, please try to create more descriptive thread titles. If you need help you can ask for it in the title which will spur faster replies than a title that would lead many to think this is just a rant. Thank you.
If you want to make terrains check out the Documentation.
This will get you the basics you need to know to navigate Unity and get familiar with the camera controls. Once you understand them, it should be some of the easiest camera controls and interface that you have used. I have used many game engines and by far Unity has surpassed them with interface design.

You will want to note the camera controls specifically from this page:

And for full in depth coverage on te terrain editor check out the Terrain Engine Guide:
Hope this helps, look more at the documentation, I am sure you will find that the documentation covers more than what tutorials will. Also, tutorials usually expect some basic knowledge of the interface.
Good luck!
thanx fer the fast reply and ill look into it
I’m not much of a fan of the terrain editor either, so I’ll answer the L3DT part (since it’s what I use), yes, you can import height-maps from it into Unity. Can’t comment on how well it works since I’m only using it on “still learning” maps, so I don’t give much attention to detail on those
Ahh thanx L3DT is one of my favorite hightmap editors. Thanx once again fer the quick replys guys yall have replyed quicker then some forums ive been on.
