Okay I really want to create a terrain in Unity however this isn’t happening. :? I click the ‘create a terrain’ button or whatever and I get no terrain. I even tried adjusting the terrain resolution and still I get a piece of nothingness. Now I did download the 3rd person platformer example project along with the engine, but that shouldn’t effect anything right? Please help!
Is it a rectangular piece of nothingness? Because if so, that’s the terrain. After it’s there you have access to the other tools to customize it.
I’m a complete noob to video game work, so if this reply is off the mark or too basic, I apologize. It’s just that it’s all new to me, and I miss things like that.
It’s just I don’t even get that. :? I like literally get nothing, not even that gray slab. The terrain is ‘invisible’ or whatever. Nothing appears on the coordinates when I create a new terrain.
This is about the limit of my knowledge, but what else do you have in the scene? Is everything else rendering? maybe you have a setting toggled?
There should be terrain in the Heiarchy tab, and a Terrain under the Project tab. Select one of these and press “F”. This should center the camera on the terrain. If you still cant see it, press the light toggel button (on the scene window tab, next to “RGB”.When I made my first terrain it was out of camera view and the lights were off.
For the “F” key centering to work, you need to select the item, move the cursor over the scene window, and then hit “F”.
Yes! I clicked ‘F’ and it worked! Thanks for the help everyone!
