Hi
I want to edit a texture in the terrain texture libary, but by accident I choose “remove” texture. Which removes the texture I had selected. Every area with this texture has now been deleted. I undo the action. BIG mistake. The texture comes back, but that just destroys the complete terrain, as all textures now appear the wrong places. Where there used to be cliff, is now grass, and so on. And the worst thing? I can’t do ANYTHING about it. The complete project is destroyed by this action, so even if I load my last save, the terrain is still fucked.
Luckily I copied the entire project this morning, so I have a backup. But I’m so…angry right now. This happens so damn often in Unity. You do something, which can’t be undoed, which destroys something crucial. You can’t rely on saving your project alone, you need to physically make a copy every hour of the entire project, to make sure you don’t lose a days work. Why is that? Will this get better?
Sorry for my rant, normally I like this program a lot, but this was just too damn stupid. Why have “Edit texture” and “remove texture” so close to each other, when it can have so dramatic consequenses? And why not ask the user “Are you sure???”…
/Rant over…
