Hi y’all - I thought I would post some recent bits using the fabulous new terrain engine.

My hometown, w/ major streets

My neighborhood (after the earth is cleared off)

my house, kinda (go inside and click on the flat panel for video stream!)

With gratutious everything, unoptimized, but it still runs fine.
Compare to the old one with bumped terrain. I guess bump maps on terrains are not such a great idea anyway. There are some minor annoyances (the caustics and shadows don’t work on the ground), but the power of terrain system to quickly whomp out huge environments is awesome. Now I just need to grok the networking, and then make some “gameplay”.
This is so cool!
In the Austin Hills player, I feel like a giant stomping around the city. Could be the beginning of a good Godzilla simulator
It looks like you used the Terrain Engine for this one. Did you resize the terrain to be much smaller? That extra fine detail in the landscape looks very sharp.
The video that plays on your flatscreen tv is super cool! It’s so exciting, this is the second user created Unity video I’ve seen this week! I can tell you’ve been practicing your marketing pitch
The video is cool, though my internet choked on it halfway through (which is reasonable for the connection). Are you using satilight images or something for the big map?
For some reason with “Home” and “Moon” I can’t move around. Home lets me turn but not walk and Moon doesn’t let me turn at all. Also, Moon wouldn’t let me out of fullscreen mode by pressing escape…
What I saw looked good, though. Interesting style and feel in Moon.
Very cool! Nice to have a house on the river
Richard.
wow, really nice work! congratulations…
can you tell me that shader do you use for the water???
i dont speak english very well , sorry.
Cool stuff.
I most liked Austin Hills and Moon.
In Austin Hills I really like how you over layed the map info on the terrain. Cool idea. Now if you could somehow stream google earth info into a web player like that…
And Moon while obviously a work in progress is still awesome. One thing… I thought there were two types of “tears” that fell from the moon- rusty red and silver. You should check up on that. In your simulation I only see yellow “tears”. And isn’t the lobster supposed to be a crab? Anyhow, the lobster looks like a great choice. The style is superb.
Very, very nice. I love the underwater one. I miss something happening after shooting to the octopus, though
