Tessellation on OSX 10.9 / iMac / AMD Radeon R9 M295X.

Started playing with tessellation examples (here) from the Unity docs and noticed that the shaders (copied and pasted verbatim) don’t have any effect in the Scene or Game view. Also, I don’t receive any error messages from Unity about the shader.

I’ve enabled DX11 in the Player settings to no avail. Further research brought me to this forum thread stating that Macs don’t support DX11 or tessellation but that was three years ago and I’ve still yet to find more current info.

So I’m reaching out to the forums to see if anyone knows what’s going on. Is Apple is still behind on their graphics game or do I need to flip another switch in Unity’s settings somewhere?

Thanks for your time!

No. DX11 in MacOS won’t help you.

We have to wait until it is properly supported by Apple. Unity with its new unified opengl rendering system should be ready for this. It’s just the apple drivers.
