Testing on the iPad

Hi all,

I’m very new to Unity and have a question. Once you have something worth playing, how would you then test it on the iPad? Is there a way of building straight to it? Do I have to purchase additional software to do this?

I’ve tried finding the answers to this but am struggling. I hope you can help

Thanks

  1. You must own a intel mac with osx 10.6
  2. you must install the iphone sdk
  3. you must pay apple $99 / year for iphone development
  4. you must buy the unity iOS addon
  5. your project must only use the things available on the iphone / ipad (ie no terrains for example, no cloth, …)

Thank you Dreamora,

So there is absolutely no way of testing my game on the iPad without a Mac?

Not really, because you have to have the iOS add-on for Unity and that only works on a Mac.
It is possible to go so far with the PC version, but then to do the inputs and testing you need to use Unity iPhone (either basic or pro).
You maybe able to hook up with someone in the collab section to move forward.
