TextMeshPro x Foveated Rendering causing aliasing

Hi all, I’m testing out some UI with TextMeshPro objects and noticed that, when I look directly at the text object, it looks pretty good; however when I look away, any text in my peripheral vision has really distracting flickering.

I’m assuming this has to do with the Foveated Rendering affecting the text resolution in my periphery, and that there’s no anti-aliasing settings on it. Are there any steps I can do to solve this issue?

Hey! We’re in the midst of improving 2 elements of the experience you mentioned:

  • Text support: We’re currently looking into improving the performance of text and 2D components in general, including working to make text look crisper and sharper.
  • We’re also working in stabilizing Foveated Rendering at large for Fully Immersive mode.
