Texture emit light?

Hello all!

I’m working on a personal project, and I want the white stripes to stay white. But when adding light-effects the white stripes change to more greyer colours. Is there a way so that those lines stay white so it looks like they emit light?

Thanks in advance!

Here’s what I want to achieve:

There must be someone who knows how this works

I can’t see your images, they haven’t loaded, so I’m going to speculate here, try using an emissive shader, that should do it.

Thanks,
Chris

Alright uploaded it on imageshack, hope you can view it now

Looks like the Mip Maps bluing / Darken the white parts of the texture.
If you disable the Mip Maps at the texture it should look better.
(Texture import settings → Texture Type: Advanced → Generate Mip maps: “off”)

The second part is that the shader is dimming the texture because of the low viewing angle.
For that i do currently not have a solution.

for the low view angle can’t you change the aniso level in the texture importer?

also are those lines separate objects or in the same texture as the floor? you can have them as separate objects and use vertex lit or set to an unlit material and it should ignore the light i believe

or write a shader that uses the alpha channel to determine what parts should be vertex lit

Thanks all for the help! I fixed it by changing the diffuse texture to self-illumination.

Have you seen this? These guys are building their game in Unity as well and seem to have the visual style that you are looking for… maybe ask them?
