Texture Import - GUI

Hey guys,

Can someone give me a solid answer on what the difference is between “Texture” and “Gui” texture types…

We seem to be getting a 20% reduction in size when setting the textures to GUI - without any image quality loss…

We are working on a 2D game with very basic lighting if that’s helpful.

You can see yourself by setting a texture to Texture, then Advanced, and look at the options. Then set it to GUI, then Advanced, and look at the options, and compare. In any case, the size difference would be accounted for by the GUI option not including mipmaps. For a 2D games, that’s probably OK.
