texture problem

Hello,

I am trying to bring a model in from maya and add a texture to it in unity. I have done this many times before but all of a sudden I have a new problem. When I apply the material the object is just a solid color not the texture. I am sure that all the uv’s should be lining up with the color map but every time I try I just get one solid color that seems to be coming from the texture but not the whole texture. I have tried brining the object in as an ma fbx and obj and always the same problem. Has this happened to any of you.

Your UVs have disappeared. Try assigning a Lambert material to the object in Maya and see if that fixes the issue in Unity. FBX doesn’t properly import/export certain materials.

Oddly enough Ive had weirdness like this from editing a psd and tabbing back to unity. rightclicking on the image in unity and reimporting fixed it. its a weird one- had it maybe four times, but easily fixed.
