I imported a texture into my game and when I put it on a sphere it ruined the perfect circle I had on the texture.
There’s always distortion from going 2d to a sphere. There’s infinite distortion at the poles, going to zero distortion at the equator.
Not only that, the circumference is always twice is large as the pole-to-pole distance. Did you account for that?
To see what I mean, look up a soccer ball texture. It’s twice as wide as it is high.
