Textures appear semi transparent from maya?

Hi all I’m extremely new to Maya (as in, I started today) I’ve made a level to muck around and test but I’m having problem with a few of my faces. They appear almost entirely transparent and can only been seen at specific angles as well as up very close to the object as can be seen in the linked screenshot. This only occurs in the Unity editor and not in Maya. I’ve double checked my normals through Maya by turning them on and they all face the proper way. The faces in question were formed using the “Append to Polygon Tool” if that makes any difference. All my walls, floors, roof etc even the stands themselves are fine but the legs and the actual images on the stands are see through :s

Nothing to see here, for some reason these materials came through as “Transparent/Diffuse” the rest were “Diffuse” changed them over and it’s fine…
