Textures are simple colours

So I’m very new at Unity. When I try to apply a texture (or material) to any object, all that displays is a solid colour.
An example is I apply grass hill to a plane it will be solid green. If anyone has any suggestions they’d be greatly appreciated

If you’re using Blender, this seems to be a common new person problem (e.g., see a very similar post).

What you need to do is search for UV mapping as it relates to your modeling program. So if you’re using 3DS Max, try searching for “3Ds Max uv mapping.” Look for tutorials related to your program.

Your problem is outside the scope of Unity - all unity does is read the UV mapping supplied by the model itself.
