Textures in Unity don't show with a multi-sub-object applied

Good day, dear unity support forum…

I’m relatively new to unity, but after a swift reading through some of the tutorials, I can say that I’m amazed by the possibilities, this engine offers.

After some playing around I decided to get serious, and started with a little scene. Everything went well, but once I applied a multi-sub-object to my asset in Max I can’t see any of the textures applied to the material anymore.
Pictures tell more than a thousand words, so I’m just gonna show you the problem rather than describing it…

I used the bumped specular shader for the first MatID and the diffuse shader for the second.

The bumped specular contains a diffuse with the specular map in the alpha channel and a normalmap.
The diffuse shader only has a diffuse right now.

I’m using the basic unity, so no pro version.
I exported the asset with Max 2008 and the FBX exporter that came with it.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Alright, so you really, really need to have a texture assigned in Max, before you export. Lesson learned.

Mutli-Sub-Objects are working fine…
