Textures turning black when I start my project

Started to have a weird problem today and wondering if anyone’d had similar and knew of a solution.

Some of the textures in my project import fine, and appear in the preview in the Inspector, but when I start the project the texture goes black- both in the project and the preview. Stopping the project doesn’t solve this, it stays black, and the only way I can get it back is to reimport it- but then often when I start the project it goes black again.

I’m on the latest version of Unity, and have restarted my machine and closed all other programs.

I am using a number of custom shaders and have noticed that this is only happening on the Diffuse textures- Normal, Specular and so forth are all fine. This has happened with both normal textures and also the output from Substances.

Any ideas?
