The Amazon Indie Games Store

This could be great if you cant get on steam maybe amazon is another fallback option

Literally JUST saw this video about it

Thanks for the heads up!

That’s sweet. Hopefully it gets enough traction to expand outside of the US.

Amazon has a lot of ecommerce clout, absorbing around 50% of all online sales. That’s millions upon millions of customers every day. That’s an absolute tone of traffic, so it’s probably worth trying to get your game on there to get it seen by far more people than might see it from your own website or other outlets.

How much does Amazon get from the normal sales and not the bundles? The indie games over at their site are only in the $5-$20 dollar range and if Amazon takes a decent cut of those indie sales the developers don’t get much profit.

Just be careful about the contract. Amazon have past form for totally screwing over developers. I hear it’s better these days, but still.

Honestly, that is just good advice for anyone you do business with. Always read a contract. If you don’t understand it, look at getting a lawyer to read it for you and explain it. I have seen people get absolutely wrecked because they didn’t even bother to read what they were signing.

Do they have any documentation on how you submit the game or what the agreement and terms are?

As an Indie developer getting screwed over by Amazon would probably be a good thing. Instant viral news FTW!

You do make a very good point there.

I think these guys would disagree.
