Have you all noticed by any chance, at least over in the WIP section that attaching an image for direct use as an image yields an empty 1x1 image? At first, I thought it was just a browser ‘feature’ (I use Chrome), so I tried it in Firefox and IE, but with similar results.
Is the Attach BBCode function bugged or something?
Seems like Unity Forum’s “attachment.php” is the culprit, only returning the correct attachments part of the time for some people. Could find no evidence that UT is investigating the issue or if it’s officially considered a forum bug.
Reloading the page several times or clearing the cache sometimes helps. It seems it’s not a browser-specific bug, it occurs in both IE and FireFox.
Yeah, I’ve been noticing issues with this since the big upgrade a little while ago. Other people refer to images I can’t see sometimes, and at other times people are asking for screenies where I can see one is already attached, and so on.
This is a really annoying bug and UT has to do something about it.
With Firefox most of the newly posted images just don’t show. With Internet Explorer 10? most images work, however I think not all of them.
Images in old posts are shown in both browsers without problems.
Sorry about that everyone and thank for letting us know, I’ll get web dev to take a look at it, could I get repro and browser +version numbers And I shall file a bug report.
It’s not related to the browser version, it works for some people and some not, sometimes yes sometimes no, on the same browser.
I’ve noticed that while CTRL+F5 doesn’t fix it but often going directly to the image page url does fix it
I couldn’t for the life of me get an image to show up on my Work in Progress post in the small programming thread. I tried different image formats and sizes and compressions and filenames. Once, I got a thumbnail of the image to show in the message in edit mode but nothing when the post was made. Trying to do it as just an attachment and not in-line never worked at all.
