I just finished making a couple trees in the tree creator tool in Unity. I added a wind zone and the leaves are shaking. Good! But, for some reason, the entire tree trunk is completely solid. It can be changed so that the trunk also moves with the changed
As far as I know, the wind zone will never move the trunk of a tree.
Yes, I think by default maybe the trunk is not allowed to flex very much. But as far as I know there’s no setting to change how much the trunk bends.
I have edited tree creator trees manually but it’s kind of complicated. I exported them using a script that could export both vertex colors and primary and secondary UV maps to FBX, and then I opened the tree in a 3D modelling program and edited the vertex colors and the secondary UV map (I think it was both the vertex colors and the 2nd UV map that affect wind somehow) and then I exported it as a new FBX file and used that in Unity…
If you really need to know more about how to do it manually I could try to explain more but it’s doubtful that it’s worth the effort.
I can get some bending in the trunks of my tree creator trees (unedited) by setting the main wind power to an insanely high amount. But that’s not usable of course.
Ah cool… interesting to both posts. I had never tried that lol
And could it be manipulated during the program, for example by increasing the speed of boughs and bending a tree trunk a little?
