Today, something strange happened:
I was working on an older project (from a more recent version of unity) and modifying the terrain settings when suddenly, there was an error message an and all image effects (which can’t work on indie) turned on!!!
Too bad it’s not one of the Indie features, the button “Unlock Pro features!”
Report to the Unity crew, now!
(but first, tell me, tell me lol)
If the shadows work i’ll be fetching the net for old Unity projects LOL.
Edit: well, now, since you discovered this bug, you absolutely deserve a full permission to use all the Pro effects
I won’t use the project (and pro features) for any comercial game, I just want to finish off this game and start the next one in another project I already created…
 How to reproduce the “bug”?
Well, I don’t know… I was playing around with the terrain lighting options and graphical optimation when suddenly the effects turned on…
 Report to unity?
I think the will know quite fast that there’s something wrong with their engine, simply because I did post it here…
I don’t think they’ll give me that permission  I don’t even need it, I think a good game doesn’t depend on fantastic image effects (it might look better, but…).
Yeah, the only thing I really need are basic shadows basic reflection/refraction. If UNity offered buying just basic Pro features and adding them to Unity, I would pay a little more for simple hard shadows and reflections.
@KlaRo - your Unity license has been revoked due to your blatant violation of the EULA.
Nah… just kidding, but we should probably have a look into this bug
The Terrain Engine uses Render Textures for tree billboarding and somehow you found the right combination of steps to unlock Render Textures across the board while fiddling with Terrain settings.
It would be interesting, being able to buy what features you wanted to add to Indie. It would probably be Unity Indie Custom Edition, lol. Reminds me of Halo Custom Edition…
Yeah, I see that I’m not the only one who would buy features. There’s just some expensive parts of Unity Pro that I just don’t need.
It’s like the Mac Pro towers. Apple used to offer an entry level tower machine, but now you have to buy a laptop, a all-in-one, or a super professional expensive tower machine. If Apple brought back the entry level tower machines, they would get more business…
