The best resource for learning from the beginning (spending time on a plane)

I’m gonna be spending a great deal of time on an airplane in a few days and I’d like to learn Unity. Is this book a good introduction to Unity, from the very basics (never launching the application before?)

Unity 3D Game Development by Example

Or perhaps I’d be better off with a particular tutorial from the website? Whatever you think is best, I need to be able to store it on my hard drive BEFORE I leave, since I won’t have internet on the plane

My options:

  • The book above
  • Another book
  • Downloadable tutorial and assets from website
  • videos from 3DBuzz (are these 2D or 3D?)

Which is best? I’m primarily concerned with the 3D features of the engine, so if any of the bulleted points I listed above primarily focus on 2D, please inform me!

-Edit: I read the 3D Buzz tutorials use C# - I’m gonna be on a macbook pro, so does that rule that particular learning channel out?

Mono allows cross platform use of C#

So C# is on the table.

I think , no.3 is best way for learn unity3d.

I think ,Just take all of them ! ha ha

but most of tutorial like to provide some resource or assets for the newbie Can not get it ,
actually I’m the one of newbies ha ha ,a lot of problems made me confuse … or I 'm a newbie T_T

I love 3dbuzz they make extremely in depth videos and cover a wide variety of programs… not to mention there radio show is FUNNY…
